Peter Wisner is the Executive Director for the United States since April 2025. Mr. Wisner served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director in the same office (2022-2025).
Prior to joining the WBG Board, Mr. Wisner served as Director, International Finance & Macroeconomics, at the U.S. National Security Council (2021-2022). He also held various positions in the U. S. Department of the Treasury as Director of the Office of Global Economic & Debt; Director of the Office of Environment & Energy; Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Office; Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary and International Economist (1996 ¨C 2021).
Earlier in his career, Mr. Wisner was the Financial Attach¨¦ at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi (2014-2015); Professional Staff, Senate Foreign Relations Committee at the U.S. Congress (2011-2013); and Senior Advisor at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, U.S. Director¡¯s Office (2006-2008).
